Abernathy – Funeral Mass for James “Jimmy” Gerhardt, 59, of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Arnold Bravo officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at the church.

Mr. Gerhardt died Thursday, April 10, 2003, in Colorado Springs.

He was born Feb. 24, 1944 in Plainview. He was a longtime resident of Colorado and was raised in Abernathy. He had also lived in Lubbock. He was a former member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Aretha Gerhardt of Lubbock; his mother, Tommie Gerhardt of Lubbock; a sister, Irene Ross of Lubbock; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
