Obituary

Graveside services for Evelyn E. Hartley, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Ritter of Sethward Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Hartley died Friday, March 9, 2007, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Plainview to Therman Clyde and Pluma Louise Lambert McCartie. She graduated from Plainview High School. She married Raymond Hartley in April 1942 in Plainview. She lived in Plainview where she was a member of Sethward Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, played piano and was very involved in all church activities. She moved to Friona in 2002 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She moved back to Plainview in 2005 and attended Dare To Believe Ministries. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Petty and husband Alvin of Andrews; one son, Dennis Hartley and wife Doris of Plainview; three brothers, Spencer McCartie and wife Maxine of Plainview, Clint McCartie and wife Wanda of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Orvil McCartie and wife Winnie of California; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-6 p.m. today at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Dare To Believe Ministries P.O. Box 1273, Plainview, TX 79073.
