Obituary | Funeral services for Mildred J. Moore, 93, of Pittsburg, former area resident, will be at 3 p.m.Tuesday at Trinity Church in Plainveiw with grandsons, Rev. Dennis Cawthon of San Antonio and Rev. Jim Cawthon of Ada, OK, officiating. Other grandsons, Gary Moore of Vega and Doug Moore of Canton, will assist. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery by Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Mrs. Moore died Friday, May 31, 2002, in Pittsburg. Mrs. Moore was born June 25, 1908 at Bluff Dale in Erath County to Lucia Cordellia Evans and Jesse Andrew Jackson. She graduated from Olney High School in 1927 and married Isaac Watt Moore on Sept. 22, 1928 in New Castle. He died July 23, 1973. after their marriage, they lived in Olney. They moved to Lockney in 1930 and with the late James Miller of Plainview they owned the Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Lockney. Then she and her husband owned Ike's Café and The Ice House until 1935 when they returned to Olney for two years. In 1941, they began farming in the Halfway Community and moved into Plainview in the late 1960s and both were Star Route carriers for Olton Route, Plainview United States Postal Service. She continued to live in Plainview until December 1985 when she moved to Littlefield. In 1999, Mrs. Moore moved to Pittsburg to reside with her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Wanda Moore. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Wesley and Wanda Moore of Lake Bob Sandlin, Pittsburg, and Randy and Juanelle Moore of Hemet, CA; one son-in-law, Wiley Cawthon of Littlefield; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Her husband; a daughter, Donna Cawthon; two brothers, Don and Marlin Jackson; one grandson, Dana Cawthon, and one great-granddaughter, Tasha Pelfrey, are deceased.
