Obituary

Funeral services for Lois E. Rich, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Rich died at 5:05 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2002, in Prairie House Living Center. She was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Plainview where she grew up and attended schools. On June 22, 1939, she married Clem Leroy Rich and they had been active with her husband in farming and custom harvesting. He died April 4, 1988. She was an avid fisherman and very involved with her children in all school functions. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tex and Marilyn Edwards of Plainview and Colleen and Ray Don Newman of Dimmitt; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill and Mamie Rich of Hart, Jimmie Don and Betty Rich of Hereford and Kenneth Rich of Plainview; two brothers, Hiram H. Reed of Plainview and W.L. "Dub" Reed and his wife, Jo, of Plainview; her deceased brothers´ wives, Ruth Reed and Athlee Lambert, both of Plainview; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Roy and June Reed, and a sister, Ann E. Jernigan, are deceased. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer´s Foundation, VistaCare Hospice of Plainview or to College Heights Baptist Church.
