Funeral services for Gertrude Carter, 96, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Friendship Holy Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Griffin officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Ossie Curry Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Mrs. Carter died Tuesday, April 3, 2001.

She was born Jan, 1, 1905, in Honey Grove. She moved to Hale Center in 1981 from Dodd City. She was a member of Friendship Holy Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Lee Vester Thompson of Hale Center; and one grandchild.
